SHORT RANGE

well in the short range forecast we are looking at the possibility of rain on the 23rd. it is looking like it will start off as rain but may end and change to a light snow. were not looking at any major accumulation. were lucky with a inch! yes, an inch if that. here is a snowfall map total for what will happen during this storm.

LONG RANGE

one word...NOTHING! i do not see one storm that i actually trust at the moment. as i said in yesterdays post, the maps are all over the place. one minute their is a storm in the east then next it is in the great lakes. right now i am guessing if one did develop it would go into the great lakes, because their isn't a high above Canada to send it our way. im not even going to post a GFS run for you guys today because i dont see the need to. the model doesnt even know what its going to do. for now were just going to play it day by day and we will see if we can get a storm our way. another problem is that the truly cold air isnt coming our way. everyday we are around freezing but sometimes that isnt enough to get an all snow event.

remember we will be doing this every weekday from now on. we also will update you if necessary on the weekend, so dont forget to check it. also you may leave comments under the comment. in that section you can ask questions about upcoming storms and we will do our best to get you an answer that day. also you can sign up for e-mail updates so that every time we update a message will be sent to your e-mail

one last note we have had some complaints that we delete our daily post every time we update. we are now going to keep up that days post and the 2 post before.

now this isn't anything we didn't expect. this is typical for a la nina year. the time around the first day of winter then after that time around the first day of spring are the time frames to look at snow storms. with a mild winter in the middle. now don't think this means winter is over after the holidays. we can still see some big storms.
