*Come back tomorrow to find out what happened and we will also be doing a storm recap.* ALSO WE WILL GRADE OUR FORECAST
This morning we had a good amount of ice on cars, trees, and other cold surfaces, but the roads never got cold enough to accumulate ice here in the valley. Some higher elevations had delays and closings, but down here school was in session on time. I have seen reports that this has been one of the hardest storms to forecast in the last 20 years for our area. It could be plain rain at 600 ft in elevation, but at 900 feet elevation, you get freezing rain.
Tonight we will continue to see rain until at least midnight. Eventually it will start to freeze on contact (freezing rain) and later turn to all snow. Also with temperature falling into the upper 20's and lower 30's, the water on the roads may begin to freeze. Right now at my house it is 35.5 degrees. Look for it to be snowing when you wake up tomorrow. 1-3 inches in the valley with 4-8 up north and at our highest elevations.
SCHOOL? I am thinking more delays and closing tomorrow then we had today. We should be looking at least a delay, with the possibility of a closing if everything goes well. As I always say, i cannot forecast what the school district will do, but i believe conditions will be bad enough to have a delay. That is probably it for tonight.
