Sorry for not posting much over the holidays. Just a few comments about what I talked about last week. If you remember I said way back on December 22 that the first week of January looked interesting. At the time I was thinking a storm on January 2nd into the 3rd, but that never developed for us because the cold air came in too soon and pushed it out to sea. Then around Christmas the storm coming tomorrow was being hinted on the computer models. This storm will come our way, but again will not be the major snowstorm we all want.
NOW FOR TOMORROW INTO WEDNESDAY STORM.
Storm goes to our west or right over us which brings the warm air with it. It will start off as snow early tomorrow afternoon, then mix to sleet and freezing rain late tomorrow night into early tomorrow morning. We will change over to all rain by Wednesday morning. Tonight's low will be in the mid teens, which will keep the roads and other objects cold. This will allow snow to stick and ice to form on the cold surfaces.
Amounts: 1-4 inches of snow, to sleet/frz. rain/ rain
Time: Late morning to early afternoon hours tomorrow. (looking more towards early afternoon 12-4 PM)
Road conditions: Snow covered tomorrow afternoon into the night, and then snow and icy late tomorrow night into early Wednesday.
Schools: As you all know, this is the first question i always get. Lets get to the facts.
We will receive 1-4 inches of snow.
It will change over to a winter mix.
Roads will be snow covered and icy.
Arrives tomorrow late tomorrow morning or early tomorrow afternoon.
Opinion: This is NOT part of our forecast, because we can't predict what school districts will do, and are only able to give our opinion.
Depending on the time the storm arrives, we are looking at a POSSIBLE early dismissal tomorrow. On Wednesday it is a very tough call. It will change to a winter mix and eventually rain. The timing of the change over to all rain is still uncertain. Right now it is very hard to say whether we will have a full day, 2 hr delay, or closing. For right now a delay looks like the best choice out of the three, but I will have more on that tomorrow.

no way are we getting out early tomorrow.
Not very likely, but it is a possibility if the storm comes early. We will look to see what the storm does tonight and by tomorrow morning we will be able to tell if we will get out or not.
