Snow/Cold/School?

JANUARY 14, 2009 (TUES) 6:26 PM

Tonight into tomorrow: Snow. Were going with 1-4 inches. Were thinking the valleys will be somewhere around 2 or 3 inches. It will be 5 to 10 degrees tomorrow morning with snow ending early. (6,7,8 AM.) Winds won't be bad to start off but will pick up at the end of the storm.

Reasons why this storm will cause problems.

1. 1-4 inches of snow
2. Very cold temps that will not allow snow to melt on the roads
3 The salt that the plow trucks use doesn't work in this kind of cold.
4 Blowing snow tomorrow morning. (Snow that has already fallen and blows around with the wind causing low visibility and covering roads.
5. Snow will accumulate fast.

Were thinking definitely a delay, a closing possible depending on how they do clearing the roads, and the time the snow stops falling.

Friday

Cold all day especially in the morning. It may be below zero when you wake up and feel like -20 or worse.

At least a delay. Once again we don't know how cold it has to be to close schools, but I guess we will find out if 0 to -5 is cold enough.
